This is a note in The Joy of Cooking cookbook my grandmother gave me when I got married in 1994. She passed away in 2007 at 94 YO. I can look it up online but I know my grandmother bought it, held it and took the time to write me a note in front of the cookbook.

Thank you to your father. My grandfather served in WWII as well! This is a letter he wrote to my dad in 1945 on his first bday explaining why he could not be with him on his 1st bday.

My day is made with these two loving on each other. One just had surgery (7yo) and the other has occasional seizures (20yo) so they look out for each other

It’s a great dish I serve at showers and Mother’s Day brunch. My niece spilled her blue paint water on it!

How profound. This reminds me of a letter my grandfather wrote my dad in 1945. He was in Okinawa in WWII and missed my dad’s 1st bday. This is how he ended the letter. I found the full letter in my dad’s baby book after he passed away in December.

I love this perspective. Unless your “little” creature is this big! And thinks crawling over you all night is what you do! But he’s 19 so he can do what he wants.
