The one thing I'd mention is I think you implied that Stack and Mary "chose" the Vampire life. But I don't think they did. Neither of them asked to be bitten, and only stuck with it, as they all did, since the only other option was death. I think it was still coercion, but that's a minor detail.

Wow, that was a really deep and thoughtful thread. I actually don't think we are too far off in our opinions about the Vampires. I do see them as cultural appropriation. But your idea of the Irish being already "appropriated to whiteness" really explains it well.
