These two trees really stood out today in Redwood Regional Park in Oakland, CA. The laurel(?) is on the Golden Spike trail; the pine is on the Dunn. Both have expansive branches, a bit rare in this park. The branches emanate from the base as if they are many trunks.

PSA: if wildfire smoke has leached into your dwelling, and you don’t have central air to run the fan and filter air, an air filter duct taped to a running box fan will improve indoor air quality
