Nice! Finished watching it for the first time with my brother a month or so ago. For some reason I didn’t find it nearly as stressful as Ozark; that show I could barely watch.

Don't just take my word for it though. I highly recommend Talia Lavin's book Wild Faith, where she writes in more detail about the decades long work behind diverting public education money to charter schools through "parent choice" laws, the rise of homeschooling, and their detriments on society.

Most parents choose to homeschool because they're afraid that a proper education will make their kids open minded to ideas outside of their conservative christian views; that schools are "indoctrinating" them. They need to be in control of their kids' lives at all times.

I'm always hesitant to mention that I was homeschooled when meeting new people. I grew up in a school district that has consistently ranked as one of the worst in the state. My dad is also a college professor in science, so he was at least qualified. But my case is an exception, not the rule.
