I moved between Oz and UK. If there's a way to move PSN regions, I haven't figured it out. I mostly just ask friends to pick up gift cards back home.

I will stand up for 3Make here. It's a perfect chunk of Resident Evil. If I want to just dip my toe into RE for an evening, I will choose 3make everytime. I must admit I only played RE3 afterwards, so I was not emotionally attached to the original.

When the PS2 launched, I had just started my first part-time job. My parents emphasised being responsible with money, but also ensuring that you buy the things that make you happy. My plan was to buy a PS2 around mid-Feb 2001. I'll always remember the shock of a PS2 and Red Faction on Christmas

I don't agree. The moustache highlights his noble origins. His literal consumption of people is a result of his nobility as much as its him being a literal monster, right? The moustache humanises him, which ironically makes his crimes worse. Him skipping legs day looks sillier, imo.

Between Subsrance, I Saw the TV Glow and The First Omen, unsubtle horror was amazing in 2024.

I liked BotW but dropped TotK. I found building in TotK to be really offputting. Instead of finding interesting ways to solve puzzles, TotK gave me boring ways to skip the puzzle, and really undermined the exploration of BotW.

BotW is an adventure, while TotK is a toy. I dunno how to explain it.

Always Jill. I don't think I've ever actually completed a Chris playthrough.

It is, though! Colin Farrell's performance is fantastic, and the core mystery (while super fucking obtuse) is a real gut-punch once resolved. I also really like how mean-spirited it is: the protagonists aren't close to the real mechanisms of power and as a result are helpless against them.

Good picks. Tried Butcher's Creek last night and really enjoyed the tense atmosphere while exploring for those keys. Surprised you're not a fan of Metriodvanias, which scratch a similar itch to RE/SH for me in terms of exploration.

Mostly caught up on older games this year (AW2, Silent Hill 1, Gears) but Mouthwashing, Crow Country, Conscript (gotta support indie Aus devs) and PoP are the top four. Looking forward to 1000xRESIST and Metaphor.
