Chapter 1: Lachlan The blast of a train whistle blew magenta steam across the cars to announce the arrival of the Seirsia re’Gal. Lachlan smiled at the dispersing pink cloud overhead. The engineers would grumble about it. They always did. The heavily dyed grass-coal stained the firebox, and it had to be cleaned by hand later, or it would flake and clog the mechanism after it cooled. She pitied them the extra work but didn’t imagine she’d stop the tradition when the time came. From her seat on the back steps of her cabin, it was the first sign that she was almost home. The circus train barreled ever closer to the border walls of Gallerinmore.

Been seeing quite a lot of people talking about #FFXIV lately, so I’ll plug this again.

Come help me make the longest Final Fantasy XIV #longplay of all time! I need help with recording cinematic runs of various duties not supported by the Duty Support system. Finished 3 already!

Duty Synced, know ahead of time it will be slow.” Basically, I’ll “lead” the group through the duty as if I’m the WoL, joined by three other adventurers exploring a dangerous place for the first time. I’ll walk most of the time, but if some element of the dungeon means it “makes sense” to pick up the pace (such as being chased by a tonberry in Wanderer’s Palace), then I’ll do so. You don’t have to worry about it, just follow my lead. We’ll do fights one at a time—wall-to-wall pulls make game logic sense, but not immersion sense. Otherwise, it’s very straightforward. Fight as you normally would, bosses are no different. I’ll always be Paladin, and Main Tank if applicable, but otherwise job and glam don’t matter beyond normal party configurations. You can be as flashy or generic as you wish, there’s no need to “look” like an NPC. It’s not that serious 😂.

I’ve reached a difficult point in my #ffxiv recording. There’s a lot of content which is not available for Duty Support, and even more that’s essentially dead in 2025. But I’m trying to do everything. EVERYthing. For real, not unsynced and trivialized.

-FFXIII Trilogy Remaster 🤡 -Someone from a different studio known for some shooter is making an extraction shooter with a twist that isn’t that intriguing but the pedigree tho (this won’t come out) -RE9 but it’s fully co-op and more action focused -Gameplay for Exodus (the space game from former Mass Effect people that does actually look pretty fire) -Fallout Season 2 trailer (could be tonight or Sunday) -A platformer that looks like the whole thing was painted by hand and is beautiful and melancholy -A new game by the Lies of P team, based on either Cinderella or The Little Mermaid (OG, not Disney) -Something by “the masters of action games at Platinum” -Actual Witcher IV gameplay that isn’t a tech demo -Far Cry VI and it’s got a jet ski -Another 2XKO beta with four new characters -The LoL MMO appears -Hoyoverse somehow has a completely new game, unrelated to Genshin, Honkai, or ZZZ that is nevertheless as enormous and even more lavishly animated

Well, we made it. “Finished” Persona 5, and we’re on to Royal. 250 hours and counting, but the end is in sight. I do believe an Expedition break will be up next for the change of pace, and Metaphor coming after that.

This is what I want from more powerful technology. Not BIGGER worlds, though eventually, sure. I want the worlds we’re already making (new and old) to continue shaving off the smoke and mirrors. Chorrol, Skingrad, AND Kvatch that clearly visible in one shot? Blown away.
