…while also juggling Espers for stat growth becomes tiresome after a while, especially in endgame, and that honestly detracts from my experience.
That being said, this was still a landmark release and a testament to the genre at the time.
Easily a 4.25/5, but it doesn’t dethrone FFV in my list.

However, the mechanical warts from the timeframe of the original release still show through in the Pixel Remaster version, for better or worse. Party and equipment management is a bit of a headache, only being able to switch characters out at the airship. Trying to keep everyone’s level about even…
