This reason is why I love SEGA's demand to keep all ships vague in the main canon. Shipping should be kept firmly in the fan world as I've learned too many times (Plus, saying you don't want Sonic ships in canon on DeviantART in 2005 was a deathwish I wouldn't wish on anyone! Ah, memories)
