Well, that's not at all where I expected this to go. I guess my question now is, does Hope know that Voltaire is Ragnarok, or is she thinking that Ellen is secretly Ragnarok?

YouTube's bullshit will keep happening until there's real consequences. Well, their ad money isn't going to shrivel up, viewers and creators aren't going anywhere because there's no viable alternative. So, legal action and/or federal regulation seems like the only thing that could make them stop.

Thing is, I don't know if the remaster is more accurate to the original Japanese or not. But we got used to the original personalities of the characters for 25+ years, so even if it's more accurate to the original intention, it's different than how we've seen the characters for almost three decades.

I think I prefer the remaster version of the scene.

But the remaster definitely changed the tone and characterization of some scenes. The Luca scene in Ryube, for example.

The original was "Die, pig!" The remaster is "Die, you pig!" The original is a lot more dehumanizing, and better fits Luca.

Perhaps.

Also hoping that Van tags along so that he gets to reunite with Tedd and reveal the sibling secret.

I wonder if Volt knows about Van and if he's factoring that into his scheme, or if this will take him by surprise. Tedd and Van teaming up to solve the mystery should be fun.

Oh dang. Calling Tedd's mom?

I figure this goes one of two ways.

Either he's baiting her to come because she's got a "royal aura" and the interlopers are gonna try to ambush her, or he's already betraying the uryuoms by siccing Tedd's mom on them.

Yep! And it wasn't even like, Madden NFL 25th or something. I remember in 2013 being like, what are they gonna do in 2024? And then it was like, oh, they just used the same title.

Worse, both are on the PS4 and XBox One. Like I said, you'd never expect that from an annual sports series.

Mortal Kombat would be a contender.

You have Mortal Kombat (1993), Mortal Kombat (2011), and Mortal Kombat 1. Close, but not quite exact.

Honorable mention goes to Madden NFL 25. You wouldn't think an annual sports game would run into this issue, but they did.

Happy birthday, lovely person. :D

I mean, I've been wondering for a long time what CEOs and other C-Suite execs do that makes them so irreplaceable compared to the workers. I can't think of a goddamn thing. So many small businesses operate just fine without a C-Suite. Replace them all with computers and no one will notice.

The first Killzone being hyped as the "Halo killer" didn't help things, and the initial teaser trailer for Killzone 2 made it worse.

I never played the first game, but I enjoyed Killzone 2 and 3. Never got very far in Killzone Shadow Fall, though. But yeah, the series was good.

So what are aspiring, new, unknown creators like myself supposed to do? Ones who may crumble under the weight of obligation? Like, I just wanna do it for fun while also getting some money out of it. But the way YouTube is going, is that still gonna be feasible?
November 3, 2025 at 7:57 PM
My problem, tho, is things like Patreon create a sense of obligation. People are directly paying me, so I must create regular content. I'm not someone who can easily handle that. Just casually uploading vids and getting ad money sounds easier on my anxiety. But YT seems intent on fucking that up.
November 3, 2025 at 7:57 PM
I've said in another thread of yours that we need an alternative that isn't a "free-speech, no-censorship" far-right hellhole. But it seems like the only actual alternative is just to use other sources of monetization and promotion, while using YouTube solely as a video host.
November 3, 2025 at 7:57 PM
I've been wanting to start doing Let's Play vids on YouTube. (Anxiety being the main roadblock.) The hope is to monetize them, but otherwise I don't care much about the reach or getting a huge audience. But every time I see stuff like this, it's like, did I miss the boat? Am I too late?
November 3, 2025 at 7:57 PM
Just looking at these two shots, I think the environment looks good, and the character portrait is fine. But the sprites look like they were put through a graphics filter from like, ZSNES or something.

Trying to wrangle generative image AI to give you the exact result you want is pretty darn hard, in my experience. I was like, this is too difficult, I'mma just learn Blender instead. Blender is easy compared to trying to get gen AI to give me what I want.
October 7, 2025 at 6:29 PM
Also, I've tried using generative image AI, and if you don't care much about the end result, it's easy. But if you have a vision in mind, it's a nightmare. You gotta know what all the settings mean, you gotta know your models and LORAs and shit, and then try to find the right combination of words.
October 7, 2025 at 6:29 PM
I like a lot of AI generated images. I don't consider them art, though. And the people generating them aren't artists. And it should never be used for profit, in my opinion. Nor should it be used to replace actual artists. But I do sometimes like the results.

Aw. That's a bummer. I've enjoyed your videos. It'll be weird seeing the group vids without you.

But I'm sure you'll do great with whatever comes next.

I could use an Ember.

As someone on the autism spectrum, that's what pisses me off the most.

Anti-vax parents are basically saying that it's better if their child dies a potentially slow and painful death from an easily preventable disease than for them to be like me.
September 17, 2025 at 8:55 PM
I mean, is there a site other than YouTube for aspiring creators who are just starting out? Especially those that wish to monetize their stuff?

Like, legit question. I know there are other video sites, but I have no idea if they have monetization, or even enough of an audience to be worth it.

Heck yeah, Wild Arms.

Such a great game. 2 and 3 were really good, too. Haven't played 4, 5, or XF. Still want to.

But I just love seeing Wild Arms mentioned. It deserves more love and attention.

When I was a kid, in the 80s or early-90s, I'm pretty sure one of the Happy Meal toys I got was a zoetrope. That thing was so neat. A spinning circle and a strip of paper that could make it look like the drawings were moving without any power? Blew my little mind. They need more neat toys like that.
