Classical mythology does have more sources to draw on. It often leads people to explore other mythologies, so it isn't a bad place to start

I still think it is wonderful also, still my favourite of the series. Skyward Sword would be up there too, but it did get a bit too frustrating sometimes for me.

I don't think it's quite the same, Y2K was totally fixable and not a universal problem. I certainly felt the panic was manufactured at the time.

Pretty sure mine had already been cemented well before the films came out (of which Alan Lee and John Howe were already a huge influence). One of my big ones was The Hobbit graphic Novel as a kid.

It's weird as once I accepted my unbelief, I found myself easily siding with the more progressive side of the spectrum. Some people seem to have lost any empathy to have that feeling of smug superiority.

I got that impression, just was confirming. My info mostly comes from Hornblower books I read years ago so happy to be corrected or expanded on my very limited knowledge.
