The institutions of the American economy depend on the institutions of American democracy; rule of law, consistent regulation, stability, and all the rest.

The whole thing is important, but listen until the end: the US depends a lot on the flow of capital into the country because it is perceived as the safest port in a storm. Once that is no longer true, a lot of things Americans take for granted go away.

I just learned this and it really opened my eyes to the size of the con Elon and the Republicans are pulling on us. You could fire every single federal worker, and it would only be 4% of the federal budget. All the chaos and news about the firings keep us distracted from what is really going on.

When I look at the fear this man thrives on. What he wants to project and sow onto so many. The fear and anger that his supporters want to sow into everyone, I immediately relax. They want fear. More fear. Fear keeps people under control. And I won’t be under their control
