... In the Toronto edition, there is a lot of ambiguity in the emerging housing data (the risk that forced sales might cause price reductions, and surprising strength in starts of apartments). I also conclude that Ontario has the weakest economy in the country.

2/ ... that there are some important differences, which create uncertainty. I'm sure that the Bank of Canada is considering that at current interest rates, there is a lot of risk about the impacts of the housing market on the broader economy...

The underlying opinion here is that interest rates need to fall by a lot more than is generally expected (we need mortgage rates in the area of 3%).
