So we should all live in poverty. That would only be fair to everyone. Very Maduro/Chavez isk…. Anyway, good luck to you. Go work at the FOMB if you want a seat in the local budget allocation conversation or just keep writing here trying to convince people to coop and be sovereign. Linda noche.

I do! Banks own houses and apartments & many more live in government (federally) subsidized. And plenty own their own homes/land. I’m center slightly left, not fully left so the combination of support and opportunities to create generational wealth for the professional middle class is a good thing.

Oh yes, the great solution to the Island’s problems. More of us moving instead of solving issues.
February 16, 2025 at 12:31 AM
I’m all for making our own local government decisions, and if we can get a foot in voting Trump out (if elections still take place in the future) even better.
February 15, 2025 at 10:12 PM
I’m not sure mayors are any better that estatal government officials. But sure, coop housing is great. Although not a big wealth creator for owners.
February 15, 2025 at 10:11 PM
That would be awesome! What country operates like that so we can emulate?
February 15, 2025 at 10:09 PM
You can live in a state and be against oligarchy and follow liberal & progressive values. They are not mutually exclusive.
February 15, 2025 at 9:26 PM
So the “government”needs to do more? Like what? What do you suggest?
February 15, 2025 at 9:25 PM
So, if we are SOVEREIGN, only Puerto Ricans will live on the Island? Sounds very Putin to me.
February 15, 2025 at 8:18 PM
By phone? Heck no! Follow the rules and mail in your ballot, very easy. You have four years to follow the steps.
February 15, 2025 at 8:14 PM
Mail in ballot is just one option.

As far as settlers, we need people for a healthy economy, settlers have a negative connotation, Puerto Ricans move all over and keep their traditions, but we need to control people that move here? We can be Puerto Rican and live among people from other cultures.
February 15, 2025 at 3:59 PM
Puerto Rico does have mail in ballots, voting in advance, it’s a holiday for government workers and private companies must provide 2 hours to vote. Younger people have always swayed towards independence.

Also, how would it become Hawaii 2.0? we are now with no Federal representation. Been here?
February 15, 2025 at 2:49 PM
Anyonw that wants to vote can vote as long as they register. Even election day is a holiday which is a US progressive’s dream. Voter turn out is up to the individual. Or what do you pretend? Free transportation to the booth? What is stoping people?
February 15, 2025 at 3:40 AM
What? You are free to elect your local officials. And you are free to move about the Island and the US. And you have a US pasport (for now). I’m here on the Island, where are you?
February 14, 2025 at 9:51 PM
Huh? Where is this? I would imagine this applies if you have a puesto de confianza in PR. Which is tied directly to who your boss is. If so, quit and get another job, even within the government there are many open positions. Always vote your conscience, you are alone in the booth!

I think the Cats should be in homes or temporary shelters, not roaming in the streets. If it were dogs, it would be unacceptable to keep them on the streets, same should apply to cats.
February 14, 2025 at 8:33 PM
I will never take for granted the opportunity to vote, even a symbolic one. You shouldn’t either.
February 14, 2025 at 5:27 PM
Boycotted votes don’t count in a democratic process; the CEE works year round every year, not just on election year. If you did not register correctly or coordinated to have someone take you to vote or mail in a ballot that is on you.
