Took the L tonight. Curled well from skip. Lots of complements from opposing team and my vice. Had to hit quite a few hero shots and came up short in the end. Did the best with what I had. Was nice to not suck as skip on dedicated.

Monday Men’s league W. 7-2. Controlled it the whole way. I curled well enough but not as well as this weekend. Judging weight was wild tonight. Stones just kept going. 4.3s were going into the house. Throwing stones at 4.5 just felt unnatural. Was a fun one.

Who knows the history of these gloves? Got them on a whim for cheap from Steve’s Curling unseen. (Thanks Steve!) Loving the retro look. Just looking at the box, it feels like they’re from the 80s.

Second game loss to the lady and another Potomac curler. Hit some nice shots and missed a semi important one. I was rotated to skip down 3 with hammer. Had a shot for four and the win but it was a super difficult one. Was close enough for the other team to really worry for a min.

First game win. Potomac is club house leader for points by a wide margin currently. Next game features a total of 4 Potomac curlers at the mixed team event. We need to score a lot of points for both teams in this one. 🤣

2-1 this week with a tough loss on the last shot (again) on Monday. We went for the win and not the tie. No regerts. Tuesday we tried to give up a 5 point lead but held on on the second skip rock tie breaker. Down by 4 early tonight then locked in and ran away with it.

Real close Monday night loss to Josh Dei. Skipper just missed on a really good chance to steal in the last end of a tie game. Difficult shot but almost got it. Took me a few ends to settle in and then was back to form. Back at it Thursday.

Didn’t pay for a first drink all weekend. Played better in the second game but not good enough. We were down 4 after 4 and decided it was time to start drinking. We weren’t coming back and the ole knee wasn’t happy. Fun time despite the results.

Second game L. Probably the worse I’ve curled in over a year at least. Missed every shot. Problem was second, third, and skip were also not very good at all. At least we got to stop playing after 4 and hit the food. Apparently we take food very seriously at Potomac.

Game one loss. Pretty sloppy rocks and issues with weight. It’s all good cause A is for suckers anyways. Curled okay from lead, not my best work but it didn’t kill is. Next game at 8:30 am tomorrow.

Thursday night loss. Skipper ticked guard by about a quarter of an inch on his last hit. Fun game. Hit 4 doubles from the vice spot, 3 big time ones in the last two ends. Unfortunately I needed to hit 5 total doubles to make skippers last shot easier. Spiel starts tomorrow.

Not a good result for our team tonight. I curled well from the vice spot and didn’t die sweeping. Also swept effectively. A tad wide here and there but overall not mad about it. Don’t care about the results as much as working towards being a good dedicated ice curler.

1st game of the season. We won the ends but lost the game. Couldn’t recover after the first end. Threw pretty well from lead considering various factors with the move, new ice, new team. Every rock from me was in play and most were where skipper wanted them. Lots to build off of.
