The Catholic League? Is this a real organization splitting hairs over the definition of pedophelia? I don’t know any Catholics that aren’t disgusted by the church’s abuse and protection of priests. I know a man molested by a priest at 15. At that age, you assume it’s your fault & don’t tell anyone

Everybody knew that already, Senator. The fight wasn’t for awareness but for relief.

I was not filled with optimism. Merrick Garland has the temperament for sitting on the Supreme Court which is what he should have been. AG was his consolation prize. Deliberate. Deferential. Slow. He tried hard not to appear vindictive and partisan.

Why do you even phrase a question like that? It’s a set up using their own talking point. It’s “do you believe the election was ‘rigged’?”

We may yet emerge from this era with nationwide abortion rights, a permanent assault weapons ban, single-payer universal healthcare and a massive revision of the tax code.

People are on to it and not going to allow it. The demand by Trump to Texas to cheat by redistricting and Newsome’s direct response broke through the gaslighting. People are not asleep.

We need to abolish DHS and ICE with it. None of this shit existed before W and Cheney started it after 9/11.

My take: Media coverage of Biden’s decline only happened when Democrats and his own supporters (George Clooney) turned on him. Media will only cover it when Republicans start questioning and criticizing, otherwise it’s just “opposition.” And it’s also media negligence.

Most concerning is that it replaces local control with state control over local police and schools

Thanks for this lovely post

It’s so when he puts the gold sign outside the “Donald J Trump Ballroom” he can claim it’s consistent with the new way finding signage

Jonathan Greenblatt on Morning Joe today was absolutely awful. Mika looked like she wanted to fold under her chair. They let him rant and then rescued him from his slide into ridiculous comments before he lost any more credibility.

Amen! In 2020 there were more registered democrats in Florida than Republicans. Today there are 1 MILLION more Republicans than Democrats. Help us.

I remember when being interviewed by 60 Minutes was terrifying for the person interviewed. They were relentless.

I don’t think Obama had anything to do with it but I do remember this and how the media focused on it. The right started weighing in and then pronouns in emails started and they went berserk. The start of “woke” attacks.

Isn’t this around the time that “safe spaces” started cropping up? The idea that subject matter or reading material could trigger PTSD among students who’d experienced trauma? It grew to include cultural sensitivity. It was 2014 when U of Chicago had a Halloween incident. Other campuses too.

It occurs to me that one of the last things Trump will do in his presidency is make sure that no future president can unilaterally tear down any part of the White House or change its grounds. Still bothered by this and his firing the committee that provides design oversight. He’ll control the future

They aren’t “political opponents.” They were people doing their jobs—investigating crime and seeking justice without fear or favor. The fact that it’s framed as political opposition is just wrong too

This “ranking” by the obscure City Journal has been heavily touted by the #1 University of Florida as if it was bestowed by the Wall Street Journal. UF press releases, emails, social media all refer to the WSJ editorial about it when mentioning the ranking. It’s a spin, beneath a truly great school
October 27, 2025 at 4:47 PM
UF being #1 is being reported widely as a “Wall Street Journal ranking.” The truth is the WSJ editorial board wrote a piece lauding this BS ranking without clarifying the source -The Manhattan Institute’s brand new “City Journal,” a conservative slanted “ranking.”

I can’t see a Democrat president using this vulgar monstrosity. Maybe candidates running for the presidency should promise to house homeless people in it.
