Casting in You Can’t Take It With You is insane. Ann Miller (15) plays Jean Arthur’s (38) married sister. Spring Byington (52) is their mother and Lionel Barrymore (60) is their grandfather. Also wild that Capra has two of the all-time romantic leads and gives them so little screen time together.

I missed Legs, Mastermind, and Just an Accident because they all played for one week in various theaters around Knoxville during the run-up to my fest. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It was the subject a few conversations during our fest last weekend. As I told a wonderful local actress, "I'm so glad you're making rent but that sounds awful." She agreed on both counts.
