On Tuesday, the Israeli High Court tried to broker a compromise on who will gain control to investigate the leak of the footage that is now evidence of the sexual violence Israeli soldiers did against the Palestinian detainee. In the footage, Israeli soldiers can be seen using their shields to hide from the camera before proceeding to rape the victim, who was left unable to walk, Israeli media reported. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the leak as the most "severe public relations attack" on Israel. Earlier this month, the soldiers accused in the rape case held a news conference demanding compensation for “damage to their image.”
