It was pretty cool. But here in Hawaii the moon caught the edge of the Earth’s shadow…so that’s why that white edge on the moon. It also took SO much longer than a solar eclipse!🤣 But it was fun!

The flower this bird is feeding on belongs to the Hawaiian Sandalwood tree.

Yes…Thanks for that! They would use sticky tree sap on branches that the birds would get stuck to. Feathers collected and birds released to live another day.

Sorry…misread your question. The leaves form a pin-cushion shape that stand about a foot tall. The flower stalk can be a 2-4 feet tall.
