I like stuff. Including, but not limited to Magic the Gathering, anime, movies, science, technology.. even a bit of politics.
Is this real!? Last time I checked, gold border cards are not tournament legal. Why would they do this, it’s so confusing

Arabian Nights was Magic’s first UB set. Don’t give me that “Magic as Garfield intended” crap.

I’ve heard about Hogaak, Nadu seemed to have ripped that old wound open. Did you play competitively or casual?

Oh wow, it was that bad? That crazy! I stopped around 97-98 and got back into it last year so I missed like 25 years in the middle :)

I started player at the end of Revised. It absolutely was a different game! To be honest, casual games were much slower. Today I pretty much exclusive play EDH, I think the game has gotten better. Rules are more defined and there are so much support for different strategies.

Yep, totally possible

Yeah I get that, I always check scryfall (I like ManaBox app) for updates to these old cards. You’d be surprised how significant some are tweaked to be much better or worse.

Oh, yes it does “die” and enter the GY. Updated text reads:
December 6, 2024 at 8:45 PM
So let’s say you have enduring out and a phyrexian delver in hand. You draw a card, it’s a creature, drop into your GY. Play delver, return that creature to the battlefield. Delver dies, return to hand, recast to put another creature you discarded previously into the battlefield.
December 6, 2024 at 8:37 PM
The discard only happens if you draw a creature, so in that case those creatures you draw are dropped directly into your GY, no die triggers. But creatures you have in play die and return to your hand.
December 6, 2024 at 8:31 PM
Oh, maybe in a deck that turns lands into creatures. They die and go back to your hand. I’m just thinking out loud at this point. lol

Thieving Amalgam should be good too, they are still creatures you control but don’t own and they still die. Not to mention they don’t enter your graveyard, they go to your opponents.
December 6, 2024 at 7:42 PM
Good questions. From reading the rules text, the creature does enter the graveyard because it’s a triggered ability so i believe you still get death triggers.
I might want to run it a GY recursion theme or a manifest deck. Manifest cards, they will, go to your hand when they die.
