I think it's funny that the conclave starts with a guy yelling "all yall go on and git!"
The conclave to elect a new pope has officially begun, with a Vatican official calling out “extra omnes” and the door to the Sistine Chapel shutting.

Follow live updates.
Live updates: The conclave to elect the next pope is set to begin
Catholic cardinals will gather inside the Vatican for their closed-door conclave to elect the next supreme pontiff following the death of Pope Francis.

It's a beautiful day. On my way into my house, I discovered I locked my keys in the car. Ah well. So I've been weeding my frankly appalling flowerbeds. I guess I'll go fishing tomorrow.

Sitting here in the office with all my machines busted when there's a sale on garden soil at Lowes, deeply discounted plant starts at Ace, the best fishing forecast of the week, and my sunchoke starters arriving in the mail today.

Been watching this video of relaxing fishing. Dude's talking about being able to see fish. Meanwhile I'm over here like "wait your water isn't completely opaque??" Clearly I need a better spot.

I wondered why Trump wanted to ship people to El Salvador when we have for-profit prison systems here. Turns out then he doesn't have to deal with courts and lawyers and human rights.

Due process rights are fundamental to our nation–Trump taking them away from one person, is a threat to every one.

TRAFFIC ALERT ⚠️ INDOT says about 50 state roads are still closed due to flooding, including US 31 north of Edinburgh (picture below).

More roads are expected to open as the water recedes and crews clear away debris.

I smell Bradford pear trees. I thought it was a bit early for them, but I guess not. Remember, the best place to prune a Bradford pear is as close to the ground as you can get without breaking the chainsaw.

Looking at the flower bed I put in last year and I don't think I can tell what's supposed to be there yet.

I've got an idea. I want to make no-bake protein balls and then put them inside bao. Have I made bao before? No. Have I made protein balls before? Also no.

In other news, the blowtorch finally arrived today.

Was not ready to see a little can of lemon pledge at the store for six bucks. 😫 Gonna try oil and vinegar. And maybe something for scent so the house doesn't smell like a salad.

My wife insists on just swiffering stuff but, my dudes, I was not raised to dust without a spray.

Anyone know what's going in at 38th and meadows? It looks like they just got started, and it looks big. Could be fun.

Also looks like Save a Lot moved out and is replaced by Value Food Market. I'm inclined to at least take a looksee at that.

I'm still not the world's most technologically adept person, but I do know that when the repairman gets out the multimeter, your machine is having a pretty bad time.

I have no idea how long this huge rip in the seat of my pants has been there. So that's how my Friday is going.

Just got back from Aldi. Butter was like 4 bucks a pound there too. Hell with that. I got a pound of the fake stuff. It'll serve for what I'm doing. If I direly need butter I'll buy the whipping cream and churn it my own self. 4 bucks a pound, my ass.

For all of us baking out here who just saw eggs at 6 bucks a dozen (at Aldi, for heaven's sake), I just saw you can sub 1/4 cup applesauce for an egg. I'll tell you tomorrow whether that's true or not using King Arthur Flour's Donuts 3 Ways recipe.

This weather is FOUL. Honestly offended that I had to leave my warm bed today.

I've got the early spring seed shopping list ready for payday. And a plan for raised beds that involves me buying a blowtorch.
