The skinheads, rockers, mods and rave scene may be a distant memory, but it was great to see this pub enduring.Loved the exterior tileage and Courage sign, traditional decor, and the homages to Camden’s musical heritage. I enjoyed my time here and would 100% recommend a visit.

Sometimes the word “gastro” puts off those just after a pint, but this pub balances both worlds nicely. The Whitbread heritage, the striking architecture, the understated decor, the spiral staircase, and a perfectly poured pint all made for a great stop.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Although close to the hustle and bustle around the Houses of Parliament, it felt like an oasis away from it all. The beer choice was top drawer, the decor stunning, and the atmosphere made it easy to settle in. Highly recommended.

Sam Smith’s pubs are a bit like marmite, I’m firmly a fan. This is a jaw-droppingly beautiful spot; while not everything is Victorian, you still get a sense of what a mid-19th-century pub might have felt like. I loved it here — the windows alone are worth the visit. #samsmiths
