Not a fan of Twitter.
If the weather allows, always walk. There is always something to see and the lack of traffic makes it a hugely improved experience.

What will Amazon do with James Bond? Ruin it probably. If they replace a quintessentially British hero with an American who shows MI6 how it's really done, saves the King with one hand and guzzles American Budweiser with the other, then this will be my complete lack of surprise.

Agreed. We have to remember that speaking the same language doesn't mean we have the same values.

I think I'm willing to be convinced that Musk had an 'autistic' moment where he didn't fully appreciate his behaviour.

But Bannon knew EXACTLY what he was doing, which is why it was half hearted and less resolute. He knew that he was embracing the dark side.

I walked from Liverpool Street Station to the British Museum, down to Drury Lane then back to Liverpool Street. It gave me a chance to enjoy the architecture, spot a Banksy, find a quiet restaurant (& cheaper than Covent Garden, obvs) sample a bun at Fortitude bakery & get some Vitamin D.

I bet Canada would welcome them with open arms. All those braincells floating northward...

America saves some money, the scientists could stop worrying about school shootings and Canada gets ahead with R&D. Everyone wins.

London city centre has improved dramatically since congestion charging was introduced. Walked for several hours around the city on Tuesday - the air was fresh, the traffic light and the ambience welcoming. I don't think many would want the bad old days back.

The Broccoli family had always wanted a British man to play Bond. Now it's with Amazon, expect a pro-Trump, Mexican thumping (or Canadian bashing) All American white hero. If we're lucky, the science lab might be run by a nerdy English guy.

I followed Meidas Touch on YouTube until the election. I preferred The Bulwark, tbh, but still appreciates the hard work put in by the Meidas Touch team. Pleased that they've reached the #1 spot. Just need to get The Bulwark podcast into the #2 spot and the US might yet survive the next 4 years.

I'm hoping those who were leaning or tempted in one direction - as a one off 'protest vote' - will be rethinking their intentions. Trump won partly because too many people just chose not to vote at all, which is less likely with PR, but still an indication that apathy is no longer an option.

Much, much worse than I could have imagined - even though I knew of Project 2025. I thought he might screw Ukraine, but calling Zelensky a dictator is a new low, even for Trump.

But at least I'm not a federal employee. Or American.

It always struck me as rather one way - we helped them in Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan, but they happily invaded Grenada without consulting Thatcher and did little to help us with the Falklands. Basically, a Jack Russell yapping at the feet of their master. Perhaps we've finally got the message.

If it's only one second, that's one second too much.

Fingers crossed for you. I know a couple of people who lost their sense of taste, and it never properly returned. Yuk.

I'm sure you're right, but tbf, that's another subject for another time.

Indeed. The government shouldn't be backing down on IHT (it would be a sign of weakness) but farming suffered because of broken Brexit promises, like fishing did. A solution would be one in the eye for Farage, Clarkson and GB News, and also a +ve PR coup that is sorely needed for Labour atm.

I've worked for a rich farmer/landowner and have zero sympathy for these types, but the tenant farmers and small landowners are a different category. Not all farmers are wealthy, some are struggling - and it's worth noting that the suicide rate for male farmers is 3 times the national average.

The amount of disinformation that is going around leaves me with little doubt that Farage has a good chance of winning.

Eg: recently, a couple of people have told me that: "Adblue is made from pig's urine".

"OF COURSE IT FCUKING ISN'T" I reply politely & explain why, but I suspect I'm too late.

Labour could find a way to support farmers in many ways, as long as they agreed to the IT rules. Farmers know that they can get around IT if they want to, so I've no sympathy there, but Brexit has made things tough for small farms & tenant farmers & they could be helped, but is the money available?

Watch the rugby 6 nations instead - MUCH more fun.

Like Brexit, I fear the damage will take years to fix & I certainly don't think Canadians will be forgiving the US any time soon

Perhaps we have taken the American war machine for granted. Perhaps Europe needs to be more independent - but until the invasion of Ukraine it seemed an unnecessary cost

A guy at work read from a tweet saying some stupidly high percentage of people using hospitals were unemployed migrants. I asked him to tell me where the stat was from & he didn't know. If he doesn't bother to find out, I'll tell him that 27% of statistics are made up - wonder if he'll get the joke

A sensible reply. Thank you.
