Apparently (although I can't find a source), most cetaceans don't have a breathing reflex - they're never forced to inhale, they have to actively choose to. I've heard that's even the case if they pass out!

If a drowning's too short, there isn't much point. It's excusable with drawings of course, but if a story or something has only like one or two sentences between the person running out of breath and passing out, really not a fan.

Could you maybe do Lenn lost underwater, with a Sonic-style drowning countdown?
