"The force of the kick sent the animal aloft, through the air, landing several feet away ... " Two women who were arrested in late February for their alleged roles in abusing a small dog have now been charged with animal cruelty, the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office announced on Friday. The two women — 46-year-old Lagashia Shante Williams and 18-year-old Graciela Amar — are also being charged with drawing or exhibiting a firearm in a threatening manner.
