My assumption is that Robert is just canonically straight

Well I disagree with his take, the reason he believes this is he believes cheating itself is abuse. His take is still fucked up, but he absolutely does not love abuse. His take isn't "I LOVE ABUSE!" it's "I think cheating is abuse and abuse should be illegal and retaliated against."

My issue with this is, with this specifically don't his handcuffs make his crown worthless? I highly doubt sinners will obey a leader who can't hurt them.

Like, yes it is bad writing to treat this moment as a gag, but it is absolutely not supporting abuse.

It reminds me of how people were like "Can we talk about how problematic Gaston's toxic masculinity is??" They're VILLAINS they're supposed to be EVIL and a lot of evil things are problematic.

I somewhat agree, although it makes me mad that people are saying this is "supporting abuse", when the whole point is that these are the VILLAINS. These are bad people doing bad things.

Like a lot of Hazbin hate boils down to "When the villain does something evil: 😱"
