We're on the other side of the world and there are counter protesters with Trump flags. Shit is extremely depressing

We have two larger parties - Labour is centre left and National is centre right. They can rarely govern alone and usually require coalitions with smaller parties: Green and Māori party on the left, NZ First on the right and Act on the fringe right. Act are the ones pushing the bill being protested

Well, that's how I ended up a commie. There are options to vote for but they believe in the same economics that funnel enormous amounts of money to the people that already have the most and leave everyone else struggling.

People want change from the status quo and the only option is a party who agrees with 95% of the economic policy that got them there in the first place. At least that's what it's like here, I assume something not too dissimilar in your case.

I am not looking forward to seeing Seymour turn the racism dial to 11 over the next 6 months in an attempt to manufacture public support. Even if he's unsuccessful it will still be damaging to the country.

Our new government is attempting to tear up the foundational document of NZ and this is the rightful reaction to it. The government is going to crank the racism dial to 11 over the next 6 months to try and manufacture public support for their terrible bill, not great times but we will fight it

Anyone who believes our parliament has 'decorum' has never watched a single minute of what actually happens there, a haka greatly improves the general vibe
