Takes its sweet fucking time getting interesting, but it gets there. Blows the first 2 games out of the water and gets real spicy with the lategame weapon upgrades.

Delightfully strange. World's great, lore's deep when it wants to be, and going from a homeless bum to a warlord in a uniquely-organic manner is really satisfying. Need to do a modded Fallout playthrough sometime before the sequel comes out

I mostly used dual-wield during my playthrough. Excellent boss and enemy design, and the weapons are all fun to use. Final boss kinda sucks and the story isn't worth writing home about, none of the characters are utilized well.

RPGs where the goal is explicitly to make the world a better are rare in this day and age (or they *were* before Metaphor came along). Much more interesting in relation to other entries in the series, and acts as a celebration of it in that sense.

Gorgeous environments, creative bosses, a damn good story and god-tier action sequences stunted by poorly-managed stats. Probably the best superboss I've seen in a game.

Very Good
fun characters, great stories, the exact amount of sex positivity I'd want from a game and a plot that made me seriously consider going back and talking to some old friends

as someone who was peer pressured into sitting through the entire danganronpa trilogy and hating every second of it as well as being very Eh on Ace Attorney it is fucking cathartic to see the general reception to this be "this is the new peak of the genre"

It's the only series entry I've 100%'d and that's solely because I knew I wouldn't grow to hate it in the process. Small-scale, but nice.

About as good as Remake, but in the sense it has higher highs and equally lower lows. Critical path is incredible and side content is mostly-abysmal. Overarching story still requires the trilogy to be done in order to give a proper rating.

Better than Lilies but I don't like it as much. The story kinda requires playing the first game in order to get anything of value from it, which is neat but *holy fuck* I do not think playing this first would leave a good impression writing-wise

so far ahead of its genre peers that I could say it's the first good monster catcher and only be half-joking. and it's not even done yet! there's still time to nuke EV training from orbit!!

I'm usually the odd one out but the amount of people I see who go "why does he suddenly want to save the monster that tried to kill his tribe" has me concerned
