In Who's Losing Learning we pointed to modelling by EPI suggesting that reversing real terms cuts to pupil premium & introducing this persistent disadvantage premium would cost £640m a year - less than the expected saving of £750m a year from falling pupil numbers in schools

If @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social’s vision was ‘decent standards for most’, she could pursue the same strategy governments have opted for over the past couple of decades: clear expectations, tight oversight and firm intervention
