Preparing to become Mayor (his team decided full Truman Show fake term was easier than telling him the truth, plus then he only interacts with people who've signed waivers).

If your up for some magical things going on, I absolutely love 'The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle'. Don't want to spoil anything, good solid twisty mystery, set in something akin to an early 1900s British manor home.

Listen, at this stage, bring on the weird locust horse monsters. (I only know this book series from your podcast) 🤣

How I am going to find out will be more than good enough, opening Bluesky and feeling a weight come off my shoulders like I can't imagine.

My god it really is about pregnancy body horror. I really was noticing that in the most recent movie.

As someone with Asthma, and a real revulsion towards cigarette smoke in general, even my memories of the mid-90s are that breathing in any building fucking sucked shit.

is the best way to define how some people are engaging with LLM. They are perceiving consciousness, where none exists /end

Completely agree. I still have such a love for the concept of Speaking the dead, and the way the Pequininos are.

I still highly recommend Speaker for the Dead. It present an incredible expanded world that fits so well with Ender's game, and I love so many concepts from that book.

That's how I still kind of feel about Orson Scott Card. The man has said terrible things, and is deeply prejudiced, but there are also some powerfully progressive and interesting conversations on what it means to be human in his books that seem so at odds with who he is.

I feel like Robert Pattinson proves that if you believe in yourself, you can still be a weirdo character actor!

When we finally replaced our old ailing one of these with a flat screen, we had to get it down from our loft where we had carried it up a fairly thin staircase years earlier. Considering it was having screen glitches, there was no point trying to save it, so I took a hatchet and disassembled it!
