Small tools that solve real problems > overengineered solutions.

Sometimes the simplest fix is just automating that one annoying step.

Calling it YouTube PowerTools
(part of my Browser PowerToys experiments).

Monthly Playlist is just the first feature - planning more power-user stuff next.

Started with something half-working,
thought I'd clean it up in a weekend.

Turns out? A week of rebuilding from scratch

YouTube’s recommendations are great.
Too great.

I'd constantly see videos I wanted to watch later…
but either forget them in the feed or open multi tabs so I don't lose them.

FOMO hit hard - from YouTube's algorithm doing too good a job.

Monthly Playlist Shortcut - adds a small icon to every video on YouTube.

Click it, and it adds the video to your current month’s playlist - just like that.

You stay organized. No stress. No Watch Later mess.

So I had this simple habit:
Create a playlist each month - “April Watchlist”, “May Watchlist” - and manually save stuff there.

It worked. But doing it every time? Tedious.

So I made a tool to do it for me.

YouTube’s recommendations are great.
Too great.

I’d constantly spot videos I wanted to watch later…
Then forget them in a sea of saved stuff or miss out entirely.

FOMO is real when your Watchlist is chaos.

Anyone else building for creators?

What's working for you to get those crucial first beta users?
How did you validate your product with a non-developer audience?
Would love to connect with others on similar journeys.

The product solves real problems for content creators - helping them make managing and sharing affiliate products and recommendations simple and easy.

But validation is proving harder than building the actual product!

Next up: sliding into Instagram DMs (wish me luck - I'm a complete rookie at Instagram and social media overall!).

My journey so far hasn't been easy.
- Cold emails to creators? Zero responses.
- Feedback forms? Nothing.

The standard indie hacker playbook doesn't seem to apply when your audience isn't tech-savvy developers.
