This ”othering” has been exacerbated since Brexit. Settled status and “leave to remain” gave the impression that, yes ok, you can stay, but know your place and don’t cause any problems.
I know this is felt deeply by those who’ve been here for years and it’s a horribly base way to treat people.

Preach! I’m nearly 50 and started going to gym twice a week last January, nothing Olympic. I haven’t had any headcolds or flu like symptoms all year (normally frequent), feel generally better all round. Lucky and grateful to have a wife who’s doing the same thing and we’re motivating each other.

Yes! I think there are a few factors -
1) More listening to podcasts and playlists than radio
2) Less shopping in malls etc.
3) An abundance of new Christmas songs from the past 20 years - that I don’t really know - diluting the listener space.
It’s an interesting trend.

I love Steve Coogan’s work, but the character of McCarthy was not well developed. Nor any of the other players who all came across as bland NPCs. The denouement in the hotel was a good scene though, Eanna was really great.

I‘m not a historian… thought Bush Jr was a complete idiot and it was impossible to do worse.

I know it’s exhausting to catastrophise everything, but ‘massive disruption‘ is the kind of language the Mail uses for the doctor’s strike.
We need a new vocabulary for the climate crisis.
Or maybe focus on the fact that in certain areas, your home will become uninsurable, so avoid buying one.
