A snowy Heidelberg seen from the Castle

The photo is taken from the Castle high on a hill above the pretty city of Heidelberg. It was December 2022, and the temperature was was -7°c. In the foreground a bare tree on a snow-covered pathway is bordered by a low stone wall. Beyond can be seen the beautiful buildings of the old quarter in Heidelberg, and most prominently the large Church of the Holy Spirit. The river Neckar flows behind the buildings, and the Old Bridge can also be seen. On the other side of the river a steep tree-covered hill rises behind the rod running along the far river bank.

Watching the flight
