i wanted to say something about puffins, and therefore had to look up the german word for puffin. In german, puffins are Papageitaucher! Parrot divers! Diving parrots! Haha.

Picked up two 170x60 MDF boards from the roadside (zu verschenken). Coated them with gesso. Now i have painted one of them. Its ok. Could be worse. I sense an urge to do v large #paintings using spray cans. No idea how i might organize that, nor what i would paint, but you only live once.

6 months in to my #art self-teaching, #painting has replaced #drawing as the default activity. Every painting is a learning experience. This month I managed to provide a nice portrait for a birthday which rather shocked everyone, me too. Hope this encourages others. Go for it.

This one was quite fun and i was a bit lacksadasical (actually, i haven’t yet managed to acquire any discipline when painting). Weird how when you are having fun the result conveys it. #oilpainting

Saw a video about the chinese artist Leng Jun today. I liked this scene in which he is painting with great concentration and is observed by an interested group. I tried to paint it in greyscale as an exercise.
