Working on a game for too many years will drive you crazy. Far too often I stumble upon ancient code that I wrote in such a sloppy manner that it just begs to be refactored.

In that way, sometimes, it feels like I'm chasing my own tail 😵‍💫

I have an overly ambitious idea for a VR game that I want to make someday. Seeing stuff like this certainly gives me that start-a-new-project itch 👀

I've come into possession of a Mac! It'll be nice to export my game to Mac and be able to test it for a potential future release.

Is it a simple process, or not worth the effort? My game is made in Godot, for reference 🙂

Happy to share that my workplace now runs software made with Godot!

I used both Python and Godot to develop a simple little program to make our frontline employee's work easier!

I think parrying is a rewarding and fun mechanic, much of the time. Sometimes, however, I feel like it can undercut some aspects of a game's design if not carefully considered.

I am still working on my game, NADYR. I work on it almost every day. Coupled with the fact that many of the changes aren't flashy, I just have not had the energy to post about it much.

I turned 30 a few days ago. I know it is misguided, but I cannot help but lament the fact that I did not start gamedev earlier.

Having said that, I still have plenty of time.

Now, more than ever, you must stay true to yourself. The blood, sweat, and tears you put into your craft are worth it. Art breathes and has a soul. What you are making is an extension of you and it is important.

Been playing King's Field 2. Game is EXCELLENT!

They put a locked chest right by the key seller. Key costs 2000g and when you open the chest, it has an item worth 20g.

I told my wife that I'll make a game that does that too, someday, but it'll autosave when you use the key lol

Playing through DMC4SE. I beat the game on PS3 when it was new, so it's cool to see all the new content!
I'm also amazed at how obnoxious some of the design decisions are, and yet the game remains fun. Giving me some good gamedev ideas, too 😎

Really glad Mark Brown addressed his advantages when making Mind Over Magnet in the latest video.

His experience making a game is so starkly different from the average person that it's really not that useful to most people.

Had a 1-on-1 with my boss. He asked where I want to be in 5 years. Instead of game development, I said, "I've been teaching myself software development. Doing that could be cool."

Anyone else find it hard to be open and honest about game dev to people who might not "get" it?
