If Nancy Pelosi and the older generation who support her don't step aside before the next election 2028 will be a replay of 2016 and 2024. In a multi party system AOC would barely qualify as center left.

Violence to combat any sort of corporate greed is unacceptable in a functional democracy. After Citizens united, corrupt federal judges, gerrymandering, we have fallen from a flawed democracy to a non functioning one. Violence or extreme economic hardship is our last and only hope.

For long haul routes in a perfect world clean hydrogen beats electric because of the quick charge time and range. It would require massive investment in our green electric production and storage. The technology is there, but the infrastructure costs would be unfathomable.

Electric trucks won't replace some heavy duty use cases this century. The niche cases like ice road trucking, remote areas where routes always change and reliability is life/death, and that's okay. We don't have to focus on the less than 5% of use cases before progress is made elsewhere.

A small semi truck charging station can cost millions of dollars. It's a huge upfront cost that will take many years for any company that wants a station for their trucks before they see a return. Without incentives/public investment it's dead.

One important factor in decreasing the cost of electric trucking is the cost of batteries. Local production needs to get cheaper to compete with china. That is going to take a long time and need a lot of investment.

Why don't more companies buy electric trucks? It costs much more and has less uses. Charging infrastructure is extremely expensive to install. Without incentives, regulations, public investment, electric is dead. If regulations are too restrictive you can easily strangle the whole economy.

Electric semi truck sales are doing extremely poorly nationally, far less than projected for anyone to meet 2030 goals or beyond. The current use case is for short haul routes in cities/school buses where charge times don't interfere with the schedule. Long haul electric isn't currently feasible.

Who killed the electric truck?
Currently the state of Nebraska is suing Daimler Truck, the largest semi truck manufacturer, with the claim that by agreeing to California's emissions rules costs will go up due to investments the company will need to make to meet the regulations. Follow the money.

Democratic policies are extremely popular. Even in Florida 57% voted to protect abortion. The party has too much baggage and needs a rebrand, without the out of touch leaders who slap people like Oprah on everything, these political consulting firms. We need FDR.

We may not be able to make changes for the next two years at the federal level, but we can make changes to the party. In 2028 we must have ranked choice mail in ballot primaries in all states. No more school gym caucuses and everyone dropping out the day before super Tuesday before most of us vote.
