If there's a general strike I'm going to have to get a job so I can not show up that day. Ugh

There's value in the general public associating literal starving children with Republicans. It won't convince the MAGA loonies but the independents will remember it.

I don't want people to starve to death for political points.

Little known factoid here: had the extra point been blocked and returned by the other team, no one would have cared

Add a little garlic powder to the roux! It's why my kids love it when I make it for them. 😛

This and the M4 fan edit of the Hobbit trilogy are legitimately the best way to watch both.

The biggest tell in bothsidesism is always the lack of specificity when characterizing the so-called opposition. It is, in effect, a casual dismissiveness of one's humanity -- their very real experiential journey -- by equating it with the specter of some undefined-but-equivalent other.

"Get fucked, poor people," says Republicans, as they continue celebrating during the longest-ever U.S. government shutdown.

It was a huge, monumental fumble by the party, led by a bunch of, yes, old politicians that represented a bygone era. They *refused* to give up power. They were selfish and in denial. They let their pride overtake their public service. They let accumulating wealth and prestige color their judgment.

Tearing up the SOTU speech was demonstrably a great move politically. It said volumes without saying anything. Why not go out there, on top? The agreement was we elect Biden, and they spend four years letting the next generation of dems take charge and move the party forward.

That didn't happen.

You don't need to have a hundred years of experience to know that it's fine to attack *what someone does* but universally shitty to attack *the person*. Including their age.

You also don't need to be a wonk to see that clinging to power well past your political prime is wildly counterproductive.

If you don't like how she's doing her job, attack *that*. Give her shit for her agenda, her platform, her legislative acts. Shout from the mountaintop that she's not doing enough for the trans community. Go off.

But attacking her personally or not calling out personal attacks on her is stupid af

The biggest lie we tell ourselves in America is that wealthy people must be smart because otherwise they wouldn't be wealthy.

The dumbest thing I've heard recently is Dems repeating the made-up nonsense about the culture of the U.S being "center right".

They are so bad at this.

"We could try building a political platform on literally anything and running someone that has morally consistent views on things that are important to most people."

"Best I can do is one hundred lobbyists in a trench coat."

Oh my god THANK YOU the wasteland is literally just window dressing for the actual game

Why the hell would I build a settlement out in the middle of nowhere when there are all these bomb-ass vaults around

I'm decidedly lukewarm pm Spanberger but I will say that her experience gives her some unique insight into what MAGA is doing right now.

Will she lean into that is the question
