When I last checked, I'm not responsible for UK foreign policy. My suspicion is that things need to get a lot worse before the UK accepts that its status has changed to being a supplicant.

Pointless unless the terms of rejoining are negotiated in a form acceptable to both parties. At present, it's an impasse.

Sadly, not that straightfoward. Brit support is conditional on rejoining with same options (£, rebate, Shengen). EU support is conditional on this conditions NOT applying.
