My goal for 2025 is to read and review 80 books. Fiction is my game, from thrillers to fantasy to spicy romance.

My star scale:
1⭐️- hated it/DNF
2⭐️- meh
3⭐️- good, but nothing special
4⭐️- thoroughly enjoyed
5⭐️- I loved this book so much I want to hug it.

Book 83. (Actually 82, posted out of order)
A disappointment from an author I’ve previously enjoyed. I figured out whodunit very early on. The twist was meh.
Still a well-written book, evoking emotions, even if the emotions were disgust and anger.

Lori Kral-Boemer's review of The Perfect Marriage
2/5: 1.5 stars. I almost DNF'd, not because I hated the book, but because I forgot I was reading it as soon as I set it down. I actually set it down a few times and read something else before coming b...

I’ve read a series of trashy books so trashy I’m embarrassed at the level of trash. I’m still calling this book 82.
My return to thrillers was so preposterous I can’t believe the book was published. 1.5⭐️ because 1’s are a DNF and I just had to watch the car wreck to the end.

Book 81 was a let-down. I might try one more from Frieda McFadden but so far I remain unimpressed.

Book 80 (!!!!) I hit my 2025 reading goal with 1/3 of the year left!
Book 2 of the filthy rich fae series picked up right where book 1 left off and didn’t slow a bit.
Consider me hooked. Still hate the name tho.

Books 76-77-78 were the same book with different characters. Same formula, same dirty dirty time, same toxic masculine ick. The couples make no sense, but 3⭐️ for escapism for the first three books of Twisted series by Ana Huang.
Will I read the fourth? If it’s ever available on Libby, maybe?
August 12, 2025 at 2:00 AM
Book 72-75. Dumb but not terrible. One story broken into 4 books that could have been 1 with proper editing.
Still giving the series 3⭐️ for escapism. 💙📚 #booksky
Beware: this is my first review with spoilers. But the plot was so predictable I’m not spoiling much..

Book 71 fell flat for me. I’ve learned that I either really like Alice Feeney or I really don’t.

Books 69 and 70 were dark romances that were more raunchy than anything. A nice change from the thriller stint I’ve been on, but also 🤷
3⭐️ for each: Butcher & Blackbird and Leather & Lark. Have a hold at the library for the third installment, cuz I have to finish series.
August 5, 2025 at 12:10 AM
I finished book 68 a while ago and just realized I never wrote a review. Phantom Limb by Dr. Lucinda Berry was sad and dark, I wouldn’t go so far as to say thriller though. It was good, not great. I may be falling away from the thriller genre? 3⭐️ 📚💙 #booksky
