Oh, it's not smooth sailing over there for sure, but part-time developers or people with small studios do seem to be the future at least as big companies lay off.

Indie studios are definitely going to be the way for most game devs. Itch.io or studio getting lucky through steam/epic will probably be more common as big companies keep laying off.
That or people just find other work. It's the end of an era, the start of something new.

Trains would be objectively better. You can burn most things for fuel, maintenance is technically simpler, can carry more further and faster, if armor is a concern you can just add steel plate to it no worry.
Roads would fall apart in 10 years. Rail can last much longer.
