I realize this is besides the point of your post, but I love this art and colour scheme!

I like that analogy! It seems like I need to start with pantsing to get myself excited about the characters but then I’ll hit some key character moment and realize I never did any setup because I wasn’t anticipating it. So then I make that moment the plot point and go back to write towards it.
