Ideally yes. But realistically this is just an advertisement, where you have to perform well. Especially against Trump. No one who cares for detailed policy questions was watching this debate to help to decide whom to vote for. I’d say no one who cares for fine details considers voting for Trump.

But isn’t the presidential debate almost entirely about aesthetics? Trump won’t win based on facts and won’t lose based on them either, when they are delivered with such bad aesthetics.
