No need for that, friend. It seems Doolittle is going to win handily.

As good an excuse as any to repost this gem. The Las Vegas fun starts at the 6:50 mark. youtu.be/AlMlcuF7d0w?...

Which is wild, because “the point” is right there in the album’s title!

Disintegration only has 1/2 - 2/3 of an annoying song (“Prayers for Rain”). Otherwise, it’s just banger after banger after banger.
Second, the best song on Doolittle (“Wave of Mutilation”) isn’t even the best version of that song (“UK Surf”).

So DISINTEGRATION it is! And I feel good about it.

This ended up being an easier choice than I initially expected, as someone who loves both albums. It came down to a couple of factors. First, Doolittle has at least 2 songs that annoy the bejeezus outta me every time I hear them (& they are unfortunately some of the more popular ones).

Look, the important thing is that no matter who loses, everyone wins. And vice versa.

Ugh. Still haven’t decided. Guess I’m running out of time, so I’d better figure it out. bsky.app/profile/locr...
Thursday is the championship, as far as I’m concerned. Those albums are #1 & #2 in some order, but I still haven’t decided which order that is. Gonna be a long week of deliberating.

It was a pretty wild prom. Dave kept disappearing behind one of the tall cabinets, and some of us were speculating that he was doing rails. Or maybe he was just ripping cigs. Who knows? If I was performing for a bunch of horny teenagers at an air base, I probably would have been doing blow too, tbh.

Hey now, Dave Pirner is alright. Fun fact: Soul Asylum played my high school prom in ‘97 after a devastating flood that inundated about 90% of the city.

Jack Joyce must be spinning in his grave.

Fun thought experiment: would the results of this poll be perfectly reversed if these bands’ albums faced off in the Best Album of 1991 tournament?
November 14, 2025 at 8:09 PM
Oh no. This discourse is now happening in my own brain, and it hurts. This is the Sophie’s choice of the tournament.

Look, I’m not here to bash TSR (I like this album!). But a lot of smart people seem to think that this album begat Oasis and the Verve, and that alone was reason enough to vote B-52s.

Definitely no fan of the ex-Sonics, but I’m happy anytime a team puts the L*kers in their place.

“re-reciting an old tale. :) or tail?”
🤮

Which is another way of saying that Pretty Hate Machine is probably the correct answer, but not the one I actually want to vote for.
