Simon Godfrey, Head of Government Relations at BT Business: “There’s a role for business - and for all levels of government - to rebuild trust with people in places. If we can’t reinvent our democracy in a way that restores trust, we’re in trouble. It’s fundamental.”
June 18, 2025 at 2:58 PM
Jean Templeton, CEO of St Basils: "Thinking of homelessness as the ultimate exclusion brings the whole system into view. Those closest to urgent need often see systemic issues most clearly. But under pressure, silos harden & rules can become defences. How do we lead collectively & collaboratively?"

Lucy Smith, Heywood Fellow at Oxford Uni & former DG at Defra, reflects on the future: “Some of the trade-offs we now face are forcing us to confront choices we haven’t had to before. We need shared long-term horizons so that wherever we sit in the system, we’re planning from common ground.”
