I've loaned people money twice. I treated it as gift, and the amount was insignificant to me. But when they didn't pay me back, it damaged the trust in the relationship. I'm no longer in touch with either person. Now, if someone I care about asks me for a loan, the answer is no.

I'm surprised it took so long! I'm on here, Mastodon and Threads. Have yet to get any engagement on any of them, but so much less toxic BS.

I fortunately haven't had any dicks in my comments yet. Is there anything about the design or features of Bluesky that encourage the ethos of "no response, just block"? Or is it just a collective cultural norm here? I wonder if it will change when Bluesky becomes public.
