Ugh, it’s one of those nights. I let the dog outside for 5 minutes and he comes back having rolled in shit. He smells awful and he thought it was a game to try and catch. I finally caught after he rolled on the carpet and my clean bed. Now to bath the smelly beast and laundry.

We went from “what good are the humanities?” to “suddenly, no one can read” in about a year, and the answer to the first question is the disinformation and lack of critical thinking you see all around you. *That* is why you need the humanities. This is what they prevent.

I have found my people and they are just as messed up. “History does not repeat itself, but it does rhyme” I maybe misquoting Mark Twain, but there is a level of pattern recognition that I feel too small to stop. 🇨🇦

Researching abandoned historic oil wells is making my head hurt since information is so difficult to find. I think is is because people record their successes but try to hide or forget about their failures or losses. But the Earth remembers and these abandoned wells are still there just hidden

Feeling the anxiety and procrastination creeping in as I need to write a proposal for a history/museum conference and the imposter syndrome has a stranglehold on me. Do people really want to learn about free educational museum resources help teachers with hands on learning in the classroom?

The news is very upsetting today and normally love it but I just can’t handle the amount of stupid. Hopefully this is a temporary blip since years from now I don’t want to be writing a history paper about when we flushed humanity down the drain. 🇨🇦🍁

First it was the Great Maple Syrup Heist and now Butter Burglary in Guelph. This is the cost of living in Canada and honestly while this is irritating, I prefer this type of crime over others.

Wrapping presents as a mom is not as fun as I imagined as a kid. It’s so much work!! Will try to get more accomplished tomorrow

So it’s started and it’s the first day of holiday programs at the museum and I am all dressed up in my depressing costume with no makeup in bad lighting. However the kids are having a blast making candles and making ornaments.
