Unfortunatley it’s still very difficult and expensive to do DNA testing on cold case stuff let alone if it even hits in CODIS. Then convincing your department to shell out for genetic genealogy is a whole separate hurdle. It’s frustrating to see cases just sit because of that stuff :(
