Game 11: Clair Obscur Expedition 33. One of the best games I’ve ever played. When I was a kid this is what I imagined the future of Final Fantasy would look like. What a great experience. I got the platinum trophy but this game is just too fun not to do a new game plus run.

Game 10: Star Wars Outlaws. The internet made this game seem terrible but I had a lot of fun with it. It certainly has its issues, but the attention to detail and clear love of SW carried me through, and sticking to the main story meant it didn’t overstay its welcome. Also the soundtrack kicks ass

Jess got me the ridiculous deku tree lego set for our anniversary last month and it’s the coolest thing I own. Sure takes up a hell of a lot of shelf space though.

Game 9: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. This and Morrowind were my reasons to get an Xbox way back when. In my opinion this is still some of the best SW stuff we’ve ever seen. I haven’t finished this game since middle school so this was a blast to revisit, definitely playing the sequel next.

Game 9: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. This and Morrowind were my reasons to get an Xbox way back when. In my opinion this is still some of the best SW stuff we’ve ever seen. I haven’t finished this game since middle school so this was a blast to revisit, definitely playing the sequel next.
The series itself is 20 years old now, but it’s weird to realize I’ve been playing these games since 2015. That’s 10 years!? I’ve grown way too attached to these games in that time

Game 8: The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure. The Crossbell arc of this series might be my favorite of the three arcs I’ve played. This took me way too long to finish but I absolutely loved it. So much so that now I’m going to replay all the cold steel games for the context I originally missed 🫡

Game 7: Breath of the Wild- Master Mode! I never expected to play this game again but I’m so glad I did. Master mode was a bit challenging but overall this has been my favorite run of this game yet. The exploration this time around really scratched an itch, and everything just clicked. An all timer.

Game 6: Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. I’ve just been chipping away at this in the background of my Zelda marathon, but I ended up having way more fun with this than expected. It’s got a great soundtrack too, definitely scratched an itch.

Game 3: The Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening. I’m late to the party but I’m so glad I randomly had the urge to go back and play this. (I originally got like 70% of the way through but decided to restart) and yeah that was practically a perfect experience, what a fun game.

Game number 2: A Short Hike. As the name suggestions, it’s pretty short! And incredibly pleasant to play. Jess has been telling me to try this forever, and I should have known to listen to her. I loved it, and I even got the platinum trophy (which was also nice and easy)

Game 1: Vampire Survivors. I don’t know if I can claim to have fully beaten this game, but it seems like I’ve completed all of the levels and the final boss. Regardless, this game kicks an extraordinary amount of ass. Can’t believe I waited this long to play it.

Game 18: Emio the Smiling Man- Famicom Detective club. A final game for 2024. A fun murder mystery visual novel. I’ve played 2 of the 3 of these on switch and definitely hope we’ll see more in the future. Even when the stories don’t blow my mind, I’m still impressed with the art/music/voice acting.

Game 18: Emio the Smiling Man- Famicom Detective club. A final game for 2024. A fun murder mystery visual novel. I’ve played 2 of the 3 of these on switch and definitely hope we’ll see more in the future. Even when the stories don’t blow my mind, I’m still impressed with the art/music/voice acting.
