SF6 has burnout which is when chip damage starts being a factor.

Tekken has chip moves but you can't die from chip (it was also severely tuned DOWN cause chip damage is stupid)

Guilty Gear has Full Guard

2xko you're just fucked and are actively punished for blocking.

oh, another thing

chip damage in this game is like, actually stupid.

you can link into everything really fast and you take continuous chip locking you down into a checkmate situation with no way out.

THAT, in my honest opinion, needs to be outright removed or rethought.

i'll definitely keep playing to see if any of my thoughts change, but these are my current thoughts after playing for give or take 10 - 12 hours.

vi is 110% super fun to speed around in, her command back dash is what I'd want Ed's command back dash be like lmao

but that's a topic for another time

I dunno, I'm definitely scrubby and NOT the person to listen to when it comes to opinions on this stuff. for all i know, this is completely normal in tag fighters and if that's the case, it blows my mind on how being simply clipped and then death is "fun"

so i'm stuck in a loop where if i get normal hit in the shins, i die
i get counter hit, i die faster
i break out of the combo, back to neutral but this time I don't have break for the rest of the round so if i get clipped again i do just straight up lose the round

the frame data makes zero sense to me in this game, and links are so damn fast.

in the tutorial the game teaches you "some combos and links are only possible on counter hit (called interrupt in 2xko)" and yet, every champ seems to be able to go into full combo by clipping you in the shins w/o CH

break meter charges much too slow, it makes me feel like I have to be very selective where i end up breaking the combo I'm currently in cause I got clipped in the shins - which in turn makes it easy to predict and abuse.

"he got break active, cut the combo short"

and if he don't, there goes 90% hp

i do only have a few hours, and this is the first tag fighter i've played. so a few of my issues could definitely just be me having a skill issue lmao

but - to elaborate a bit more on my thoughts

motion inputs would feel so good in this game and I feel would help over just mashing buttons in order
