Hold up, Sister. That's not what Leadership says. Leadership says Google doesn't matter. Leadership says they don't care about SEO. Leadership says focus on AEO. Leadership says they only want AI visibility. Leadership is banking 100% on 1%. 99% sure someone has their head where the sun don't shine.

Yet SEO is in their name and they're offering an AI "SEO" audit. If assholes were planes this place would be an airport.

I don't understand why an author would even use images with such issues. Seems so sloppy and disrespectful to the reader. Glaringly obvious misspelled words in a crap image do not convey credibility nor attention to detail. Makes me question the validity and quality of the content too.

I love my Pixel; had them exclusively since Project Fi first came out years ago. Couldn't pay me to switch!

Curious if anyone has had confirmation that leadership doesn't care about traditional SEO. Maybe a conversation like, "they're deprioritizing things that are probably even more important sometimes or even more influential." And, "it's not what you think, it's what they think." Asking for a friend.

Any early insights to share on the financial industry?

Thought for a minute to share this interesting bit of data with leadership but shouting into the wind is getting tiresome. Thank goodness for scotch and Valrhona.

We had a hallucination issue with AIO pulling from a 25 year old article in a local newspaper, gated content. Working on a case study with SchemaApp about it. Adding schema to our page corrected the issue w/i 3 weeks.

My problem is exec leadership is believing the hype. Despite explaining the truth, & consequences, to middle mgt, they'd rather be yes men & say nothing than speak the truth & be seen as contrary. I'm so frustrated. Weighing the costs of going to C-level myself or staying quiet & slowly dying inside

Manchego.txt. There is no enjoyment in llms.txt and this John Mueller sound bite will most definitely appear in a deck to leadership. Working title, 'Why llms.txt stinks more than Vieux-Boulogne'. As always, thank you, John!

2/2 HTML conveys, complex tables, and meta data. I liked Gemini's advice, "Don't build your house out of Markdown; build it out of HTML. But make sure the blueprints (your content structure) are clean enough that an AI can easily translate them into Markdown."

@lilyray.nyc 1/2 I've been chatting with Gemini about this for a few days. 'Shadow' strategy; spun out of a conversation about llms.txt, using markdown for the most important pages. Seems .md is not necessary or even beneficial, so says Gemini. In some cases it could omit important formatting that

Butter knife or duct tape. Equally universal.

Why do you think it's so high? Poor content, limited content, YMYL? Is it just that site or the banking/finance industry?

Really looking forward to the piece you're doing for leadership. I'm sure it will be @NYT worthy!

Past 3 months 4 credit card sites I'm tracking have been coming in at 9-9.4/10 on semrush sensor. Consistent w/o fluctuations. Would love to know if anyone else seeing similar.

We need to figure out a way to pack all of this into our @nytimes.com ad. If I keep talking about it do you think it will manifest? 🤞
