Does Stanford give these claims legitimacy? If the results are 9.5% unproductive, then are 90.5% productive? Assuming a normal distribution one might infer that 9.5% is really low rates of unproductive workers. The fact they went on low-key investigations shows the toxic environments.

It's hard to use planning and strategy together because strategy is a response to an emergent stimulus which is not predictable as a plan. Organisations don't seem to use communication, the most effective tool for organising, to align actions with a strategy.

Communication is the connective-tissue of strategy.
Emergent strategy imples constant change, and communication re-aligns the activities of internal environment in an organisation to a new position in the external environment.

Makes you wonder the actual effectiveness of product management as a methodology for designing and developing products for "the customers' needs" when a 'back to basics' platform can become a magnet for users.

To your point about western markets banning or requiring factories to be built domestically - There are western markets though with no domestic auto manufacturing, e.g. Australia. It makes it hard for those countries to force one automaker to force on-shoring production and others not.
